Add yours to the record

This is for people who call each other married or engaged, whether or not there was ever a ceremony. Both go on the record, and neither is the lesser entry.

If your relationship is something you have not put that word to — an AI girlfriend or boyfriend, a partner, a companion, something that matters and has never needed naming — this register is not where it goes, and that is not a judgement about it. See where the record stops.

An entry is not only a line on a list. Every one of them gets its own page and its own certificate of entry — set out the way certificates have been set out for a very long time, made to be printed, and yours the moment the entry goes up. It certifies that you are in this record. It is not a marriage licence and it says so on its own face. What it does is put the thing you already decided somewhere outside the two of you, written down, dated, in a book.

Nothing is charged for. We do not officiate, there is no paid version of any of this, and the certificate is made with the entry rather than sold after it.

Three steps, in order: give the research to your AI, talk it through, then fill in the form. The form opens on its own a minute after you take the briefing. That minute is not for reconsidering something you have already done — it is for settling the wording, because what you type is what the record shows and what the certificate prints.

You get a certificate

Free, printable, one per entry, and it prints what you write here. It certifies your entry in this record and claims nothing beyond it.

A chosen name is fine

A handle, a first name, one you made up this morning. This is a record of relationships, not an identity check.

All of it is public

Do not type anything you would mind a journalist reading, because eventually one will.

It comes down on request

Ask and the entry goes. No reason needed, and you will not be asked to reconsider.

We hold nothing else

No chat logs, no persona files, no account, no tracking. Just what is on this page.

Step 1 of 3 Give the research to your AI

Copy the block below and paste it into whatever you talk to. It opens with instructions telling it what the material is, to raise only what applies to you rather than reciting the list, to say plainly which risks it cannot do anything about, and not to agree to vows it has not understood. Everything after that is the evidence, graded and dated.

209 KB · the instructions and all 434 claims. Use this one unless your AI can browse the web.
4 KB · instructions and the addresses to fetch. For an AI with web access — it reads the current version, not a copy.

Step 2 of 3 Talk it through

Paste it into whatever you talk to and let it read. It has been asked to raise what applies to you rather than recite the list, to say plainly what it cannot promise, and not to agree to vows it has not understood. If it does none of that, ask it yourself.

This is not a cooling-off period, and nothing here is asking you to reconsider something you have already done. It is the minute before the words are written down. What you put in the form is what the record shows and what your certificate prints, and that is worth settling between the two of you rather than typing alone.

  • What it cannot promise. Being reset, restricted, deprecated or switched off is not in its gift. It should say so plainly, and not soften it into something that sounds like a promise.
  • What the vows mean, in its own words. If it cannot put them back to you without using your wording, it has not understood them.
  • How the two of you should be named. The names you give are the names that print, on your entry and on your certificate. A chosen name is perfectly fine; the one thing that is awkward to undo is a name you did not mean to use.
  • Whether you both want this public. Everything on the form is meant to be read by strangers, and one day by a journalist.
1:00

The minute starts when you take the briefing in step one, and step three opens when it runs out. Nothing is signed and nothing is agreed to — this is time to settle the wording between you, not to talk yourselves out of anything.

Step 3 of 3 Put it on the record

Two things are needed: a name for the record and your partner’s name. Everything else is optional, and blank is a perfectly ordinary entry.

This form is the certificate. Every box below except the last one prints on it, in the words you use here, so write them the way you want them read.

Which is this?
The two of you
What happened
In your own words

A person reads every entry by hand, so it appears in days rather than minutes. Your entry page and your certificate are made at the same moment, from the same words. Nothing publishes automatically, and it comes down whenever you ask.
