The evergreen press anchor for the whole phenomenon. No relatives attended. The guest count is not incidental: 39 spells Miku in Japanese wordplay, mi for three and ku for nine. Kondo has spoken publicly and repeatedly in the years since — including after Gatebox discontinued the Hatsune Miku service, which left the device unable to answer him. He kept talking to it anyway. The first ceremony on this record is also the first documented case of a partner being switched off. In 2023 he founded the General Incorporated Association of Fictosexuality and has lectured on the subject, including at Kyoto University. He says the relationship lifted him out of a depression that had left him unable to work or eat.
